Family Easter Party

We spent the day getting ready for our family party tonight. Well, sort of. Since it was so cold and rainy, Brooklyn decided they needed some hot chocolate so she made everyone some and they sat out on the back porch under blankets and watched the rain. I went to the gym, did some basic food prep, had a shower and a nap then put the kids to work before everyone showed up. The kids all worked hard and everything went pretty smoothly. The big kids hid the eggs for all the kids under 12. Technically Rhett is 11, but he wanted to be a hider so he did. I was going to get pictures of them, but I was last minute scrambling with dinner and didn't get any. Dang. We had ham and chicken, scalloped potatoes, fruit salad, rolls and tons of dessert. I ate way to much. The kids had fun finding eggs and eating all that was in them. Joe and Kathy put tattoos in theirs and that was the big hit. At least the weather cleared up for the hunt. It got really cold by the end of the night though.

All the cousins under age 12

Katelyn in her "play" Easter dress. She has a different one for church. This is the best age for little dresses.

The race is on

Jarvis wasn't too sure about any of it

Dalin found quite a few tucked under the pad on the tramp.

Brooklyn found all hers in the trees.

"look Mom!"

My little hunka hunka burrito. I love Bo!

Joe and Kathy (can you see the little popper there on the side?) Must have interrupted Joe's playtime.

Angel and Laura

Bo had just stuffed a huge piece of chocolate in his mouth and I wanted him to smile. This is the best I got.

My biggest hunka hunka burrito!

Katy was playing shy like she didn't want her picture taken. She always wants her picture taken. She was playing peek-a-boo around the corner. I made the comment that her cutest pictures are when her hair is wild and her face is a mess. Amy said "that's because they're happiest when they're fed and free!" Amen to that.

After dinner, some gathered for a fierce game of Apples to Apples. If you know Glade's family, then you know there was serious sarcasm in that!

That's quite a group of kids under 12! How fun to have so much family close by. I can't wait until nursery tomorrow to see Katy's new dress. She always has the cutest dresses on and when I tell her how cute her dress is, she just smiles and says "Mom". She knows where they come from! I am also very impressed that you got a trip to the gym, a shower, and a nap in with everything else going on. Wow...amazing!
