Finishing XC

As so many things are bittersweet these days, so is the end of Cross Country season.  I absolutely love going to the races, but I could use a plain ol' Saturday again. It was an awesome season for all three of my kids.  Only Dalin and Rhett went to state cuz Brooklyn had hurt her ankle and really didn't want to go run a competitive race injured.  Their times aren't impressive because the course ended up being 3.44 miles instead of 3.1.  Dalin did really well and had improved greatly since the beginning of the season.  I love that he loves it even though he's not the best.  He's such a great kid!!

Rhett and his school both went out with a bang.  Boys and girls HS and JH all won state except JR high boys who took second.  And all but JH girls had our runners as State Champs on an individual basis.  We did really well.  Rhett took 5th in state which is up from last year when he was like 22nd or something.  His mental game has just soared these last weeks.  I'm just so proud of his determination and desire to improve.

Rhett got recognized at several assemblies for his accomplishments during the season.  At the final awards banquet, he was awarded a back pack for Most Improved and got awarded first team all state.  What an awesome ending to his season.
