Well, got my house cleaned up after last night, whew! That was no easy feat. Had a very enjoyable morning with my little ones. Katy has been sick for so long, she is finally feeling better and I'm so happy to have my little princess back. She is smiley and laughing and plays on her own, it's fantastic. I missed her. About lunch time, the school called, Rhett had a fever. He has been on the couch ever since. He won't take any medicine cuz he doesn't want to swallow a pill. He's getting a little old for children's liquid. Spent some time today working on 72 hr. kits. That time of year again! I always do all the gathering and shopping for the contents and then we get together as a family and assemble them the Monday after General Conference. I totally love doing stuff like that. Feels good to be prepared!
My mom had a very scary incident last night. When she came home around 12:30 am , someone was trying to break in to her house! They had cut the screen on her security door, taken out the motion lights, and broken a window in her back yard. That was when she came home. She thinks her turning on the lights must have scared him away. I can't even imagine how you sleep after that. She can't get her window fixed until tomorrow. I begged her to go stay with someone else for a few days but she said no. Luckily, I have this really wonderful sister-in-law who agreed to go spend a few days there until she can get her window fixed and a security system installed. Thanks Donna!
Still trying to figure out how to - as Glade would put it - "manipulate" my children into the best possible situations for their success. Contemplating home schooling for Nick for the rest of the year. I so regret taking him out of Franklin. I tried to get him back in today, but he's 8th on the waiting list. Not looking so good. It definitely makes my decision with Stephen easier, he stays!
Chelsey tried out for the advanced dance team on Friday and she made it! She is so excited. Whitley has decided to give track a try. Interesting. We'll see if she sticks it out. I was quite surprised and pleased that Chelsey did. Friday, Stephen goes to Tucson for the state Geography Bee. I'm excited to see how he does. He has been studying his Globe!
I was only able to get in a quick workout today. Opted to stay home and be responsible getting my house in order instead. Still did 40 min on the treadmill, not too bad. I just have to stop eating. Didn't do too bad until dinner. That dang cracker chicken, thanks Amy. I'm still behind 8 pages on my B of M reading. I'm determined to get caught up. It really feels good when your body and spirit both get exercise!
Time to go start Family Home Evening. Brooklyn and Dalin have prepared a lesson on how to get along with each other. This should be good!

ok, I don't know if I like reading your blog and learing about mom's house being broken into. I take it she's positive they didn't get in and take anything. Tell Donna I also say thank you.
I'm glad to hear Chelsey made the dance squad. We weren't quite that fortunate here. Cass tried out for football and basketball cheerleading for high school and didn't make either squad. She was crushed. I guess she will just do softball her freshman year.
Hey Laurie! I just talked to Joe and he gave me your blog address and said that you wanted ours too. There's not much there yet because I really don't know what I'm doing yet, but here it is: http://dairmanfamily.blogspot.com By the way, who should we ask about what to bring to dinner on Sunday??
